This time of year is my favorite time to thrift. Over the years my favorite sweaters and fall/winter wear have surprisingly come from the thrift store. The prices are incredibly inexpensive (we’re talking under $5) and the quality of the sweaters are amazing. They just don’t make them like they used to. So I decided to write a post about my top three thrift stores in the Cincinnati area. For those who may not be local, I challenge you to visit a couple of local thrift stores, you will not be disappointed!
A few tips to thrifting before we get started:
1.) Patience is KEY! Whenever I plan a trip to the thrift store, I make sure I have a good amount of time and am not rushing to be somewhere after. It takes time to sift through everything at thrift stores, so be patient! It’s all worth it once you find that something special!
2.) Look for the extra deals! Typically, thrift stores will have a sales calendar for days in which all or some items are 25%-50% off.
3.) Don’t just browse the women’s section, I’ve found some amazing
4.) Always check out the jewelry section on your way out. I go to the jewelry section last because it’s something I am always looking forward to. I’ve found some gorgeous accessories that you just can’t find in the store anymore.
New 2 You
New2You is a thrift store located in the Clifton area that I recently discovered. The moment I walked in I fell in love. They transformed an older mansion into three stories of thrifting heaven. From home goods to clothes and shoes of all kind.
On the top floor, they even have a room specifically for Women’s vintage clothing and accessories! It’s my favorite room in the building. It has classic dresses, the most beautiful scarves, and purses like no other. If you have not been, pack up your things and head over there NOW. I promise you won’t be disappointed!
Goodwill – Tri-County
Goodwill is one of my absolute favorites in the Cincinnati area! All of the Goodwills in Cincinnati are good, but my favorite is the Tri-County Goodwill store on Springfield Pike. The store is so big, I always walk out of there with at least one good find. I will say it takes some patience getting through the whole store, but it’s all worth it when you find something good. An added bonus with Goodwill is that they have weekly promotions, and every other Saturday they have 50% off everything. GIVE. ME. ALL. THE. DEAL$.
St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Stores
St. Vincent de Paul has a couple of thrift stores in the Cincinnati area. I typically go to the one located on Este Avenue. It’s a large thrift store with everything, including clothes, shoes and home goods. They also have pretty good sales, so check out their sales calendar before you make the trip!
I wish you good luck with your thrifting endeavors. Just remember one thing, patience is key!
I’ll be writing another post shortly sharing my most recent thrift store finds.

Hi Morgan
Thanks for your tips. I have been shopping at the Goodwill Tri-County store for years. I will definitely check out the other two stores. You have a beautiful family. Tell your Dad I said, “hello and I miss working with him.” I hope and pray you all are doing well. God bless you all!

Hey Morgan,
Thank you so much for posting about the thrift stores you love. Because of your post I was inspired to go to New 2 U and found 3 beautiful sweaters and a cardigan. Now I’m hooked! I’m looking forward to my next trip to the thrift store. I think I’ll try goodwill next.
